The Great Dane is one of the largest dog breeds in existence and one of the most genuinely noble — a dog that carries its enormous size with a grace and gentleness that consistently surprises people who encounter one for the first time. The Great Dane doesn't need to be aggressive: the sheer physical presence does all the communicating needed, and what that presence communicates is usually quiet dignity rather than menace. This sculpture captures the Great Dane in full: the long-legged elegant form, the deep chest, the aristocratic head, and the bearing of a dog that has always known it was the largest animal in the room and has never found that particularly interesting. Cast in 999+ fine silver with an antique patina, hand-finished throughout.
