The hippo doesn't posture — it exists. Responsible for more human fatalities in Africa than any other large animal, the hippopotamus spends most of its day in water looking utterly relaxed, and then moves with extraordinary speed and force when something crosses the line it has drawn invisibly in the water. This is the animal that looks like it isn't paying attention until it very clearly is. Cast in 999+ fine silver with an antique patina, the massive barrel body, the wide head, and the full imposing presence of the hippopotamus are hand-finished to bring this remarkably powerful and underestimated animal to life in precious metal.

About the Reserve Edition
The Hippo is a Reserve Edition statue. Every size is limited to a maximum of 100 pieces -- 500 for the 1oz. Once a size reaches that number, it will never be cast again. Each Reserve piece ships with a metal Certificate of Authenticity, laser-engraved with the name of the statue and the individual number that matches your specific piece.
The Reserve line is for collectors who want something permanently scarce -- a piece with a defined place in a fixed run that closes for good. For collectors who want a specific Gold Spartan design without a mintage cap, the Standard Edition line remains available continuously.
Shipping and returns
Most pieces are made to order and ship in about 2 to 3 weeks. Larger and custom orders can take longer. Every shipment is tracked and insured. Eligible items may be returned within 30 days of receipt.
